Introduction
With over 30 years of experience in helping groups of diverse interests reach common ground on a wide range of public policy issues, Michael helps the Puget Sound Institute conduct projects that foster collaborative approaches to addressing policy challenges in Puget Sound. As Director of the William D. Ruckelshaus Center (a joint effort of UW and Washington State University) from 2010-2021, Michael is also a Distinguished Practitioner at the UW Evans School of Public Policy and Governance; Adjunct Associate Professor at WSU Extension; Adjunct Professor at Seattle University; and Principal at Michael Kern Consulting, LLC.
