Sarah Young

About
Sarah first joined the UW Tacoma community in 2007 through a year of service with AmeriCorps before going on to earn her BA in Urban Studies from UWT in 2010. Her early career included work with TRiO programs and time as a writer for Exit133, a hyper-local blog covering Tacoma’s development and civic life.
Sarah returned to UWT to serve as the academic advisor for the School of Urban Studies before stepping away to spend time at home with her young child. She returned to the same role in 2023 and is thrilled to once again support UWT students.
She loves helping students find their way and is always up for a good conversation about cities, planning, and all things urban. In her free time, you’ll find her traveling the world, running, paddleboarding, sailing—basically anywhere near water.
