About
Degrees
As a postdoctoral researcher in ecosystem modeling at Puget Sound Institute, she is passionate about understanding the complex interplay between human activities
and marine ecosystems. Her research focuses on assessing the human impacts, including climate change, fishing,
and pollution, on marine organism. She is particularly intrigued by the way seemingly minor changes can ripple through different levels of ecological
organization, from genes to entire ecosystems, and from nutrients to top predators.
Alaia completed her PhD in IFREMER, France, between Montpellier and Boulogne-sur-Mer in 2022.
