About
Degrees
Saralyn Smith (she/they) (M.A. Cultural Studies, Claremont Graduate University; Certificate in eLearning Instructional Design, University of Washington) has been designing, developing, and operating higher education programs for nearly 15 years, primarily in continuing and professional education. Their particular areas of expertise have been fostering relationships with partners and developing both content and instructors/facilitators that are effective, engaging, and accessible to participants from a wide range of industries and backgrounds. Saralyn is also an avid process-improver, knowledge manager, and boundary-spanner, believing strongly in the importance of clear and equitable information access to set people up for success.
Saralyn has lived in Tacoma since 2016 and loves exploring all its weird little corners. They are an active member of the Kitakyushu-Tacoma Sister City Committee, Tacoma Anchor Network, and various mutual aid efforts. In their spare time, Saralyn can be found at The Grand Cinema, the WonderLab (Tacoma Public Library, Main Branch), and any of Tacoma's many green spaces, when they aren't at home reading, cross-stitching, or baking with their partner & cat.
