Introduction

Denise Drevdahl is a Professor at the University of Washington Tacoma (UWT). She has taught at UWT since 1996. Prior to this she taught at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Her areas of expertise include public/community health nursing, bias in healthcare providers, and critical theory. She has given national and international presentations on topics ranging from nurses’ pain management decisions to public health nurses’ decisions to pursue graduate education. She presently serves on the Washington State Institutional Review Board.
