I was born and raised in Steilacoom, Washington, and graduated from Steilacoom High School in 2001. I joined the Marine Corps Reserves right of high school and would stay in the reserves until 2007. I was deployed to Iraq in 2005 for nine months. I worked odd jobs for the next ten years before returning to school at Clover Park Tech in 2016; I transferred to the University of Washington Tacoma in 2018 and graduated in 2020. I have been working for the University of Washington since 2020 at the Center for Urban Waters, looking at trace organics in water.
