Introduction

Dr. Beasley is an Associate Professor at the University of Washington Tacoma, where he researches the social and psychological mechanisms involved in self-actualization processes during and after incarceration. He also serves as the faculty advisor for the Husky Post-Prison Pathways initiative. Dr. Beasley began organizing and supporting formerly incarcerated college students as a graduate student in the 2010s and co-founded the Formerly Incarcerated College Graduates Network in 2014. In addition to his scholarship, Dr. Beasley focuses on developing programs to help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals identify and pursue new opportunities. He is also dedicated to creating policies, procedures, and communities that support fair chance employment at the University of Washington and in the broader community.
