About
Degrees
Adi Nugraha is a coastal modeling expert in Salish Sea Modeling Center, University of Washington Tacoma. His research covers broad areas, including estuarine and coastal hydrodynamics, sediment transport and water quality, nearshore restoration and carbon cycle in ocean and estuaries, integrated modeling assessment of climate change impacts and extreme events on coastal infrastructure and marine ecosystem. He has been involved in several projects related to hydrodynamics and water quality assessments for coastal and estuaries using 3-D coastal and ocean numerical models such as FVCOM, SUNTANS, and AdH. He is also key modeler for the development of high resolution hydrodynamic and water quality model of Salish Sea, and has led on several federal projects such as, Salish Sea water quality from EPA and Operational Forecast System from IOOS NOAA. He has been actively involved in the development of a 3-D finite volume hydrodynamic and transport model for the Salish Sea Model for numerous applications such as nearshore habitat restoration, water quality impacts assessments and sediment transport assessments. He also has extensive experience in sediment transport modeling river and estuarine systems of Skagit and Snohomish Estuaries for those applications.
