Before joining the UWT Tutoring Centers team to direct the Writing Center, Ashley began her higher education work teaching online in 2016 and has since taught in-person, hybrid, and online classes to undergraduate and graduate students in composition and rhetoric; technical and professional writing; editing; and writing pedagogy. Ashley has worked in administration as a director of a First-Year Writing Program and in Writing/Learning Centers and professional editing/proofreading positions for over 10 years, enjoying the opportunity to join the writer in their writing journey at whatever stage of the process. Ashley's aim in working with student-writers is to join them in a collaborative environment of learning and intellectual inquiry, helping them develop ownership of their thinking, communication, and writing.
Ashley's research/teaching interests include rhetorical/composition theory and practice, writing center theory and practice, writing program administration, editing theory and practice, instructional design, distance/online pedagogy/development, and technical and professional writing and pedagogy.
