Linda Dawson worked on NASA’s Space Shuttle Program as an Aerodynamic Flight Controller at Mission Control in Houston and then as a Navigation and Guidance Engineer for the Boeing Space Center in Kent, Washington. Her engineering career was followed by a 25+ year career in higher education and STEM research. Upon retirement, she became a space historian, authoring books on space related topics: The Politics and Perils of Space Exploration (2021) 2nd edition and Space Wars (2018) published by Springer Nature, NY & London. Currently she is writing a book on the personal perspectives of women in aviation and space.

Current Research

Linda is currently engaged in research projects that involve documenting the history of space exploration and the journeys of pioneering women in aviation and space.  Her website details the types of projects she has been involved with.
