Deveeshree Nayak

About
Deveeshree is an Assistant Teaching Professor with over a decade of experience in cybersecurity research and education. She earned her Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Information Technology from Biju Patnaik Technical University in India and her Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Computer Engineering, specializing in Information Security, from KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, India. After moving to the United States, she completed three additional graduate degrees: a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus on cybersecurity education, a Master of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice with an emphasis on cybercrime, and a Master of Science in Information Systems focusing on cybersecurity management, all from the University of Memphis, Tennessee, an R1 University. In addition, she holds graduate certificates in Information Quality from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and in Privacy Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania. Deveeshree is also nearing the completion of her Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Since the beginning of her teaching career, Deveeshree has taught, mentored, and trained over 6,000 students and professionals. Since joining the University of Washington, Tacoma, in 2019, she has educated more than 1,300 students. Additionally, she has provided mentorship to over 100 undergraduate and graduate students, assisting them with projects, internships, and independent research in cybersecurity.
