The Institute for Innovation and Global Engagement (IIGE) is a campus serving unit with a vision for a globally engaged campus. Its mission is to advance solutions for an interdependent world through interdisciplinary research, inclusive innovation, and community engagement. The IIGE includes the Global Honors Program and the Global Innovation and Design (GID) Lab. The Global Honors Program, established in 2005, provides transcripted honors distinction, and Minors in Global Engagement and Innovation and Design. It also provides non transcripted Microcredentials in Global Leadership, Global Citizenship, and the NextGen Civic Leader Corps--a tri campus and nationally networked program. The revenue generating Global Innovation and Design Lab, established in 2018, provides community workshops and executive education in planet centered design and design thinking, as well as a non transcripted microcredential internship program for undergraduates, in Design Thinking.
