Chunming Gao, Ph.D.
Chunming Gao received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University in 2003 and 2011 respectively. He received the B.S. degree in Astrophysics from Beijing Normal University in 1989. His areas of expertise are in innovative human-computer interactions (input techniques, interaction design, assistive technology, and most other areas of human-computer interaction), data management and analysis, information assurance and security, and graduate and undergraduate education research. He has over 30 publications in journals and conference proceedings related to information technology.
Since 2016, he has been an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering and Technology's IT program at University of Washington, Tacoma. Before that, he was an Assistant Professor (2011-2016) and Lecturer (2007-2011) in the School of Technology at Michigan Technological University. He worked as a senior database administrator (2005-2007) in the university library at Michigan Technological University, and a software engineer and IT director in Bank of China (1991-1999).
Dr. Gao serves as an Associate Editor for the journal, IEEE Access. He also serves as the editorial board member of International Journal of Information Science, and the editorial board member of Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Technology.
