Current Research

Project Manager for the Computer Engineering Department Research projects. We are currently working on several projects to research and develop (R&D) wireless sensors and Networks.  These sensors will be used in agriculture and forest fire detection in collaboration with schools and businesses in Spain, Brazil, Chicago, and California.

Our main project is a collaboration with Spain and Brazil to develop a forest fire detection network.  This network will serve as an early detection system of fires in remote forests.  We will be using nano sensors, which are being developed in Spain, along with energy harvesting devices from Brazil.  UW will be providing the wireless network to tie everything together.

We are also working with USC Chico to develop wireless networks for agricultural use.
