Prior to being employed by TLC as a quantitative instructional consultant in 2010, Su-Miao earned a MES degree in Environmental Studies with an emphasis on environmental health from The Evergreen State College, and a M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington-Seattle, where she was a teaching assistant. She had been a mathematics teacher and the chair of math teaching professional development committee in Taiwan and a certified math and substitute teacher in Washington state. She taught Calculus I and Statistics for IAS; plus, she facilitates statistics workshops and meets one-on-one with undergraduate and graduate students and faculty at the TLC. Su-Miao has a strong interest in data analysis and continues to take classes in statistics and biostatistics at the UW-Seattle. It is her goal to promote the importance of statistical education and formal research at UW-Tacoma.
