Deanna M.Blanchfield, MAOD
Deanna has over 30 years of Human Resource Management and Organizational Development experience. She originally came to the Tacoma campus to lead Training & Development for Staff & Faculty. She has held HR leadership positions for Housing & Food Services at UW Seattle, Fisher Communications (KOMO TV & Radio), Washington State Liquor Control Board, Shurgard (now Public Storage), AT&T Broadband, Nextel/TeleTech, Supervalu, International and The Bon Marche (Now Macy's).
Deanna earned her M.A. in Organizational Development from the University of Phoenix, and her B.A. from the
University of Washington, as well as a Certificate in Governmental Leadership from the UW
Evans School of Public Affairs.
As a lecturer, Deanna teaches for the Milgard School of Business/Management here at UW Tacoma, and was an adjunct faculty member and creator of the HR Certificate online program for 5 years at Highline College, and also taught 5 years for the UW Tacoma's Professional Development Center.
She has served on the Northwest Human Resource Association Board as its Professional Development Director, chaired and served on The City of Federal Way Human Services Commission, and the Tacoma YWCA - Pierce County Board.
